Guess what we did at midnight on Chinese New Year Eve…

We lit up the neighbourhood with some fireworks !!!

My brother bought two boxes of fireworks, costing RM450 with 138 spectacular displays each.

Fireworks from far. Near the KL-Putrajaya Highway.

Shooting fireworks can be a challenging task for a photographer. It requires not only a steady tripod, but accurate manual settings as well.

A powerful 6.5 frames per sec camera does come in handy I must say.

To me, shooting fireworks from a very very close distance is a headache.

Shooting close distance fireworks is an excitement. But the fear of fireworks’ boxes may explode all of a sudden is another.

The fear is inevitable because it’s Made In China !!

Furthermore, the widest lens I have is an EF-24-70mm f/2.8 L USM.

Close Distance + Fear of Explosion + 24mm Widest Range = Horrible Images

Apparently smokes may be obvious in these images.

The empty box of fireworks. We are gonna light up the neighbourhood again on the 7th Day of Chinese New Year.

If you wanna shoot or watch fireworks from a close distance, drop by my house on that day.

Coming up next. Photos from my recent Chinese New Year trip to Hong Kong.

See yah’ soon !!
