I no longer look forward to Chinese New Year.
The mood is just not there, unlike the younger years.
The older you get, the ‘no big deal’ it is.
Just another yearly routine.
Everything gets expensive. Fireworks is nowhere to be found, thanks to the ban.
But you’ll still see some.
Sigh..everything is illegal these days.
You play fireworks, you get slapped with a RM100 fine on-the-spot.
You gamble, your head get shaved and spend the night in jail.
Sooner or later, you give angpau, they accuse you of bribery.
It’s just ridiculous.
What else can be worse from a festive season like Chinese New Year ?
You pay the North-South Expressway concessioner just to get yourself stuck in a heavy jam.
Can you believe this nonsense.
For example, driving to Ipoh takes 2 hours on normal days. During Chinese New Year Eve, 7 HOURS !
Your ass gets numb in the end.
It must be insane to drive at the speed of 10 km/h on a highway.
At the end, you find yourself singing Elvis Presley songs to keep yourself entertained.
